Labcorp in Tampa, FL is seeking a Technologist to join our team. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform testing per SOPs, monitor instrumentation, and ensure accurate results to support patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a chemical/biological science, FL MT license, and comfort working in a high-volume lab. We value detail, teamwork, and flexibility to cover overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biological science or Medical Technology.
• Microbiology MT FL State License required.
• 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems.
• Must pass color blindness test and be able to work overtime.
• Understanding of CLIA standards and high-volume lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing per criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures according to SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
