Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Laboratory professional to conduct a wide range of tests, operate instruments, and maintain quality control to support accurate diagnoses and patient care.

Responsibilities include participating in special projects, cross-training, and contributing to process improvements while maintaining competency across laboratory sections. LICENSING and certifications preferred; no experience required or two years preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or
• Associate's degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or
• Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489(b)(3)(ii) (see NOTE 2); or
• Successful completion of at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
• Completion of certification/licensing requirements that meet CLIA/CAP requirements for the performance of high complexity testing

Responsibilities

• Conduсts, directs, or assists in special projects, evaluations, or research initiatives.
• Participates in cross-training rotations across Clinical Laboratory sections.
• Suggests improvements, implements new procedures, collects data, and discusses results.
• Defines job requirements and goals; maintains competency across duties.
• Independently conducts a variety of laboratory tests and operates instruments with maintenance checks.
• Contributes to QC by reporting results and spotting discrepancies.
• Prepares samples for analysis and ensures proper storage of specimens.
• Assists in preparing reagents and monitors stock inventories.
• Performs registration and sample collection as required by location.
• Collaborates on new procedures and enhances existing ones.
• Trains bench personnel and students after proficiency.
• May serve as SME for LIS and train staff when needed.

Education
