Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside in Jacksonville, FL. Work Schedule: 3 (12 hr days) 7:00pm-7:00am. Friday, Saturday & Sunday. This position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instrumentation, and ensure accurate reporting to support quality patient care. A related associate degree is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Preferred: 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience; ASCP or AMT certification.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with computers and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
