Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem Clinical Lab Technologist (Hematology/Urinalysis) to join the Department of Clinical Laboratories in Brooklyn. The role includes performing procedures in Chemistry and Hematology, using chemistries and hematology analyzers, and assisting with quality control and instrument troubleshooting.

The candidate should hold a B.S. in Medical Technology or related field and NYS licensure, with ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations, and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
• Have working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry.
• Specific familiarization with Blood Gases, Olympus, and Architect instruments preferred
• Have good knowledge of quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instruments.
• Demonstrate flexibility and collaboration to perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as needed and/or required.

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations, and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
• Have working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry:
