Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or a relevant medical/scientific discipline is required.
Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least three years of clinical experience is acceptable for the career ladder path.
Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP BOC) or equivalent, or relevant categorical certification, is required or implied.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory testing assigned to the department.
Recognize unusual test results and resolve discrepancies.
Establish work priorities and manage several procedures simultaneously, including troubleshooting instruments.
Maintain knowledge of current SOPs and contribute to drafting/revising SOPs, training documents, and validation/verification plans.
Maintain excellent communication with the department and Laboratory Services personnel.
