Job summary

The incumbent will contribute to SOP development, training materials, and validation plans while communicating effectively with the Department and Laboratory Services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a relevant medical or scientific discipline.
• At least three years of clinical experience.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or relevant categorical certification.
• Internal candidates must meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements; external candidates must complete them within 90 days in position.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing as assigned by the department.
• Recognize unusual test results and resolve discrepancies; troubleshoot instruments and issues.
• Maintain knowledge of current SOPs and draft/revise SOPs, training documents, validation plans and test cases.

ASCP BOC Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or equivalent
