Job summary

Labcorp in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform routine and complex procedures, and monitor instruments to ensure accurate results for patient care.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in a chemical or biological science (or medical technology), with preferred Bachelor’s degree and ASCP/AMT credentials.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology is preferred.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens and maintain a safe work environment.
