Job summary

You will work closely with hospital staff, ensure accurate result reporting, and uphold standards set by TJC, CAP, CMS, and CLIA while delivering safe, compassionate patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of clinical lab experience or completion of an approved medical trade program.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED, preferred
• Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One (1) year clinical work experience or graduate of an approved medical trade school program

Responsibilities

• Performs daily lab operations including sample processing and result reporting.
• Provides direction to staff and oversees workflow as appropriate.
• Interacts with hospital personnel, physicians and patients regarding specimens.
• Follows policies and standards set by regulatory and accrediting bodies (TJC, CAP, CLIA).
• Promotes quality patient care and safe, cost-efficient service.
• Maintains knowledge of system computers as required.
• Ensures safety for patients, staff and visitors within department policies and budget.
• Supports professional growth and acts as mentor when needed.
• Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards in interactions.
• Other duties as assigned.
