Clinical Lab Technician Full-Time Nights Position Summary
The Clinical Lab Technician processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Acts as a resource to other laboratory personnel and holds additional advanced clinical and operational responsibilities within the department.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include processing and testing all types of laboratory specimens, reviewing and reporting lab results, performing operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Additional duties may include billing, inventory management, equipment selection, validation, implementation, document control (SOPs), training, competency assessment, quality control, and performance improvement.
Education
Required: Associate degree or equivalent experience; graduate of an accredited school of medical laboratory technicians or equivalent. The candidate must meet the criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489, Jan. 24, 2003).
Experience
Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical laboratory technician.
Certification
Required: Registered with an approved certifying agency (such as ASCP, AMT, or equivalent). Licensure as required by state law.
