Hot Springs Health in Thermopolis, WY seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for full-time day shifts in the Laboratory department. The MLT will perform routine and complex analyses, ensure specimen processing, and provide accurate results for patient care.

The role requires strong adherence to quality and safety standards, ability to work with physicians and nursing staff, and competence in lab equipment operation and maintenance. BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent with military medical laboratory course and specialty.
• Sixty semester hours in chemistry, biology, and medical lab techniques or related associate degree with one year lab experience.
• Must possess communication skills to relate to the public in person.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills necessary.

Responsabilités

• Labeling, handling, preservation or fixation and transport of specimens.
• Evaluate specimen integrity and transcribe results from printouts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
• Assist with quality control procedures and follow policies.
• Investigate test discrepancies and alert Director for follow-up.
• Provide technical information about test results to physicians and nursing staff.
• Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids to determine components.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
• Collect and study blood samples for cell counts and typing.

Formation

High School Graduate or equivalent with military medical laboratory course

60 semester hours in chemistry/biology/medical lab or science-related associate degree with 1 year lab experience

Communication skills to relate to the public
