Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center in Athens, GA is seeking a dedicated laboratory professional to perform CBC analysis, QC on CBC and chemistry testing, and timely reporting. 4-year Biology or other Science Degree, MLT, CLS, Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant with clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

Performs in analysis of CBCs, reporting, commenting and evaluating correct results.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly QC and maintenance on CBC machine.
Performs moderate complexity Chemistry tests, QC and maintenance on appropriate instruments.
Performs analysis and QC of waived and POC testing, with timely reporting and accurate results.
Tracks sendout specimens daily for ICD and test code accuracy.
Identifies patients’ tubes and labs according to lab orders.
Distributes tubes to correct testing areas.
Processes blood specimens using centrifuge.
Maintains stock levels and distribution.
Assists Lab Managers in filing and categorizing proficiency testing.
Prepares kits with proper tubes and paperwork.
Handles other lab testing documentation and requests.
