Job summary

Lake Health District seeks a Medical Lab Technician for a full-time, 40 hours/week role with a rotating schedule. The position includes on-call duties outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, and requires CLIA/state regulation knowledge and blood bank experience.

Responsibilities cover routine and complex tests, blood collection, specimen handling, and reporting results to physicians, using advanced lab equipment while maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or transcription reflecting core science requirements per CLIA and Oregon state regulations.
• National certification required.
• One year hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates accuracy & attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and complex laboratory diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Collect, test, and store blood; maintain blood bank records; perform blood bank procedures.
• Perform and observe chemical tests on patient specimens and record results.
• Operate laboratory equipment and discuss results with physicians.
• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures per test requirements.
• Participate in shared on-call rotation outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
