Hancock County Health System laboratory is seeking a skilled technician to perform moderate and high complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, and coagulation disciplines. The role requires strong data recording and reporting, plus independent work and phlebotomy on ER, inpatients, and outpatients.
The ideal candidate holds MT/MLT/MLA/CLA or a BS in chemistry or biology, with sharp vision and clear verbal skills, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
Performs moderate and high complexity testing per CLIA standards. Performs hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, and coagulation testing to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs quantitative and qualitative procedures. Keeps detailed records of all tests performed and reports to authorized personnel. Will be required to work independently and perform phlebotomy on ER, inpatients, and outpatients.
Weekend package available – $1300 for working the entire shift, on-call starts Friday at 5:00pm to Monday at 5:30am. Additional hours available as needed. Must work at least one weekend per quarter. Must be willing to work on-call and weekends.
MT, MLT, MLA, CLA, or Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry or biology. Must have good vision and verbal skills. Must be able to perform well under pressure and cope with a variety of situations. Experience preferred.
