Job summary

HealthPartners is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician to work at the White Bear Lake Clinic Lab. The role requires an associate's degree in a lab science or MLT, plus certification by ASCP or AMT, with the ability to certify within the required timeframe.

Candidates should be able to work in a highly complex CLIA‑regulated lab and demonstrate teamwork and accuracy in processing samples. Preferred candidates have six months of related training or experience and basic typing skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a lab science or MLT from an accredited program or completion of a 12‑month approved school for Certified Laboratory Assistants and eligible to be certified.
• Certification by ASCP Board of Certification or AMT; if not certified, must register within 45 days of hire and obtain certification within 6 months.
• Qualified to work in a highly complex lab under CLIA.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process biological specimens following SOP.
• Perform testing analyses and verify assay performance per SOP across areas such as Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, and more.
• Document and communicate lab results accurately per SOP.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to regulatory policies and lab customer service standards.
• Respond proactively to stressful situations and changing departmental needs.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
