Job summary

The Valley Hospital-Paramus is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform duties at the clinical bench, including receiving, aliquot, handling and storage of specimens, and performing waived testing and add-on testing. You will support technologists and maintain supply levels while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years in a related lab setting, strong organization, communication, and computer skills, and adhere to CAP/JCA/NJDOH requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• MLA (Medical Laboratory Assistant) (ASCP) required, or must be obtained within 18 months of hire date.
• 2-3 years in related laboratory environment preferred; customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, aliquot, handle and store biological specimens.
• Perform and report waived testing and add-on testing.
• Maintain workflow for technologists and stock supplies as needed.
