Job summary

Labcorp at Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI seeks a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to lead the Core Lab operations, ensuring accurate tests and timely reporting while mentoring staff. Shift 2:30pm–11:00pm.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree in a life science, 4+ years as a Technologist/Technician, and ASCP/AMT certification; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 4+ years of experience as a Technologist/Technician.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Core Lab department.
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner.
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department.
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage.
• Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed.
• Research and resolve production errors and escalate when necessary.
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained through Quality Control.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations.
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.
• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations.
• Ensure all work complies with state and Federal regulations.
• Administer and manage policies and procedures.
