Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the Specimen Receiving- Clinical Labs, with an evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and a 40-hour workweek in Rochester, NY. The role leads staff training, provides technical guidance, and ensures efficient specimen handling and timely turnaround in a high-volume clinical lab.

Strong communication, leadership and adherence to NYS standards are essential to mentor staff and sustain quality and compliance across the department.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 2 years of lab experience required or 3 years of Lab Science experience and technical training.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all aspects of staff training for assigned team(s).
• Provide technical expertise and enhance growth of the laboratory through staff development.
• Schedule Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM with rotating weekends and holidays.
• Plans staff schedules to meet demand and turnaround times.
• Monitors performance and ensures accurate completion of tasks.
• Mentors staff and participates in evaluations and competency.
• Coordinates communication between shifts and area leadership.
