Job summary

University Hospitals in Ravenna, OH seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to perform high and moderate complexity testing following lab policies, and to support pre- and post-analytical activities.

The role requires accurate processing, equipment maintenance, and strict quality control, with documentation and ongoing competency development. Travel and PHI safeguarding are included in the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology; CLIA high complexity testing (Required)
• Associate's Degree in clinical laboratory science with ASCP certification (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in other field (Required)

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical laboratory processes for testing
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment per manufacturer instructions
• Performs quality control assessments and reports results per policy
• Evaluates test results to ensure quality patient care and documentation
• Maintains competency assessments and pursues self-development and timely completion of mandatory trainings
• Performs other duties as assigned and adheres to PHI requirements
