Job summary

TridentCare seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to join our Indianapolis laboratory on-site. You will perform and verify clinical tests with accuracy, following CLIA rules and lab procedures. The role demands collaboration with physicians and nursing staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates have an associate or bachelor degree in a related field, MLS/MLT/CLS/MT certification preferred, and up to one year of clinical lab experience. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field preferred.
• Certification as MLS, MLT, CLS, MT or equivalent preferred.
• Must meet CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing Laboratory.
• 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting and record-keeping of patient test results.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance or reporting; take corrective actions.
• Perform routine and new test procedures requiring professional judgment.
• Calibrate instruments and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Check and verify test results and handle delta checks, redraws, or specimen issues.
• Communicate with nurses and physicians; work well with others.
• Assist in maintaining supplies and inventory; prioritize duties.
