Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science preferred.
• Prior laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderately complex laboratory tests per established protocols.
• Operates and performs maintenance on laboratory instrumentation per established policies and procedures.
• Performs quality control testing and documents corrective action per policy.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation with support from technical services with proper documentation.
• Documents results in the LIS, instrument records and QA data.
• Follows policies on reporting and documenting critical values.
• Monitors supplies inventory and orders as needed; keeps inventory to prevent waste.
• Assists with send-out testing; researches specimen requirements for collection, handling and shipping.
• Implements computer downtime procedures when necessary.
• Organizes daily workload to complete tasks promptly.
