Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA seeks a Laboratory Technician to ensure quality specimens for laboratory testing and to operate systems that produce timely, accurate test results for patients and caregivers.

This role participates in QC, maintenance, training, data reporting, and workflow improvements. Requires MT(ACSCP) or equivalent certification and a BS in an accredited laboratory science program; one year of hospital lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MT(ACSCP) or equivalent certification in good standing.
• Bachelor of science and completion of an accredited laboratory science program.

Responsibilities

• Performs required QC and preventative maintenance, including corrective action and documentation.
• Minimizes department expenses by using resources efficiently and avoiding expiration-related losses.
• Performs complex troubleshooting.
• Reports accurate results to minimize corrected reports that could affect patient care.
• Uses computer systems to evaluate data, document actions, and manage workflows.
• Mentors staff and students; cross-trains and assists others.
• Acts as a resource for technical questions and maintains procedures and clerical processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
