Job summary

The Toledo Clinic, Inc. seeks a capable laboratory technician to perform chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures across laboratory sections. You will follow validated protocols, maintain accurate records, and respond promptly to STAT requests.

You will work under supervision of the Lab Supervisor, ensure safety standards, keep equipment and work areas clean, and participate in quality control and procedural improvements as needed.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of college including chemistry, biology and microbiology to qualify for ASCP/AMT registry.
• Must be eligible for ASCP/AMT registry.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures in designated laboratory sections.
• Works under supervision of the Lab Supervisor.
• Maintains records of procedure performance, patient results and quality control.
• Plots control results on Levey-Jennings charts and investigates out-of-control runs.
• Reviews and verifies accuracy of laboratory reports.
• Maintains equipment and logs daily temperature checks and preventive maintenance.
• Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and informs reordering needs.
• Responds promptly to STAT requests and communicates results to appropriate personnel.
