Job summary

Proven Recruiting in San Diego is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist I (Generalist or CGMBS) for a 1-year contract with a Tue–Sat, 1st shift start at 5:00am. The position offers the chance to advance your clinical testing expertise in a high‑complexity lab in a leading biotech environment.

You will perform molecular genetic testing (PCR and sequencing), review and report results, and carry out QC/QA activities while ensuring compliance with all relevant lab safety standards.

Qualifications

• Requires California CLS generalist license OR CGMBS license (no exceptions).
• 3+ years experience in high complexity clinical lab testing, preferably molecular diagnostics.
• Molecular testing (PCR, sequencing) experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular genetic testing on clinical specimens using PCR and sequencing (NGS).
• Reviewing and reporting patient results.
• Performing quality control and quality assurance activities as needed.
• Comply with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory, quality, and safety requirements.

What you will do:

• 3+ years experience in high complexity clinical laboratory testing, preferably in molecular diagnostics
• Performance of molecular testing (PCR, Microarray, Sanger/NGS sequencing) a huge plus

What does this position pay?

• Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected range for this role is $50 to $55 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
