Job summary

Cardinal Health Fresno location seeks a Laboratory professional to oversee daily lab operations and staff, ensuring accurate testing and timely reporting of results.

You will adhere to quality assurance policies, perform equipment checks, mentor junior personnel, and communicate with nursing staff and physicians on testing issues. A California CLT license and internship completion are required, with hematology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field and completion of internship.
• State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or temporary license.
• One year hematology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computer/telephony support in a healthcare setting.
• Strong customer service background in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day laboratory staff and operations, ensuring efficiency.
• Perform laboratory testing and report results accurately and timely.
• Adhere to quality assurance policies and document QC activities.
• Maintain and document equipment maintenance as scheduled.
• Communicate specimen requirements and issues to appropriate staff.
• Mentor lab personnel and assist with training as needed.
• Perform proficiency testing testing and document accordingly.
• Communicate with nursing staff and physicians regarding testing issues.
