Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our lab team in Vacaville, CA. The role involves performing, interpreting, and reporting high-complexity tests with accuracy and timeliness, under supervision and per SOPs.

You will also help train staff and may supervise technicians as needed. The ideal candidate has a BS in medical technology, California CLS license, and ASCP or equivalent, with a few years of hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy, basic medical terminology, typing, math and computer skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Must demonstrate and maintain knowledge for patient care across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets, reviews, and documents quality control and patient results according to policies.
• Analyzes and resolves complex issues that impact test performance.
• Communicates proactively using the SBARQ format.
• Assists with validation of new tests and instrumentation.
• Maintains records and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Prepares reagents and calibrates instrumentation.
• Assists with training and competency assessment of staff.
• Independently resolves problems and supports performance improvement initiatives.
