Job summary

Cottage Health in Goleta, CA is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II for our Core Lab to perform a range of standard and specialized tests, potentially across Blood Bank, Microbiology, and General labs. You will also train students and new staff and help troubleshoot complex results.

You will participate in proficiency testing, ensure accuracy before reporting, and help uphold our commitment to excellence in patient care across the central coast.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree.
• California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required.
• Preferred: MLS certification from ASCP.
• Minimum: 1 year of relevant CLS experience or demonstrated CLS II competencies.

Responsibilities

• Check tests results for accuracy, reliability and validity before reporting.
• Teach students and trainees and provide guidance to staff.
• Participate in proficiency testing and address outliers or non-conformance events.
• Provide troubleshooting and quality assurance in the Core Lab and related departments.
