Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to perform laboratory analyses and ensure quality control under the Laboratory Medical Director. The role involves processing specimens, maintaining equipment, and documenting results with strong attention to safety and accuracy.

The position supports a weekend shift (Sat-Mon, 6a-6:30p) and requires adherence to the company’s quality management systems and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological) or medical laboratory technology, or equivalent training.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
  • Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests and analyses per SOPs.
  • Document quality control procedures and maintain instrument QC.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare reagents and ensure adequate daily inventory of supplies.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance or safety.
  • Mentor new staff on procedures as needed.
  • Participate in testing and validation of new equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain safety standards and appropriate data/documentation.
