Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in clinical/medical laboratory science as listed.
• MLT/ASCP certification required for appropriate degree level.
• MLS/MT certifications per degree level.
• Two years’ experience for certain pathways where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived/point of care, moderate, and high complexity CLIA testing as appropriate to role.
• Investigates and resolves problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• Performs quality control and proficiency testing and monitors accuracy of testing.
• Prepares reagents and assists in preparation of standards and controls.
• Monitors reagent inventory and maintains laboratory supplies.
• Reviews test results for accuracy and timely correction of errors.
• Reports results and consults with healthcare providers as needed.
• Participates in teams and special projects.
• Educates and trains new employees and learners as appropriate.
• Acts as technical resource and works independently based on experience.
