Job summary

The Anaheimregionalmc Clinical Laboratory Scientist I position supports the Director of Laboratory Services by performing a range of tests—chemical, hematological, immunohematological, serological and microbiological—to aid diagnosis and treatment. You will analyze specimens, calibrate instruments, run quality controls, and evaluate results for reporting.

Responsibilities include ensuring specimen acceptability, conducting preventative maintenance on equipment, and performing proficiency testing

Qualifications

• Current California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
• Experience as Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist Intern preferred

• Evaluates results to decide whether tests should be reported.
• Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Evaluates the acceptability of analysis prior to releasing patient results.
• Responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance and laboratory equipment calibration.
• Accurately performs and records proficiency testing.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements and performs related tasks as needed or instructed.

Overview

Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist I performs various chemical, hematological, immunohematological, serological and microbiological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
