Responsibilities include hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry, and urinalysis, plus careful handling of specimens, operation of complex equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Certifications required within 120 days post-hire.
• Possible credentials include MT(AAB), MT(AMT), MT(ASCP), MB(ASCP), CLS(NCA).
• Equivalent registrations (BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), Cytometry, MLS(ASCP)) accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conducts clinical laboratory tests across hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
• Analyzes samples of biological material for chemical content or reaction.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Cultivates, isolates, and identifies microbial organisms for testing and diagnosis.
• Selects specimens and media for cell culture using aseptic technique.
• Studies blood samples for cell counts, morphology, and compatibility for transfusion.
• Promotes safety and infection control practices and ensures accurate data reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
