Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead Sunnyside Medical Center's pathology/lab operations. The role focuses on day-to-day management, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvements, ensuring timely and accurate lab reporting.

You will oversee credentialed and non-credentialed staff, maintain testing competency, and drive performance through coaching and professional development in a labor-management partnership environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in a leadership role within a healthcare-related field.
• Bachelor's degree in medical lab science or health care related field AND minimum six years of experience in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or health care related field OR minimum nine years of experience in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or health care related field.
• Knowledge of quality improvement, safety, and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and development for a designated work unit; translate plans into actionable items and drive performance.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and accreditation standards; address corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Maintain training standards by aligning strategic initiatives with training programs and competency assessments.
• Oversee operations to ensure efficiency, quality, patient safety, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
