Job summary

Burnett Medical Center Inc seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead daily operations of a busy hospital lab supporting inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care. The manager oversees staff scheduling, training, and performance; ensures accurate, timely testing; and maintains quality control, CLIA and CAP compliance, and equipment calibration.

This role collaborates with providers and nursing to support patient care, manages inventory and vendor relationships, and monitors key lab metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience leading daily operations of a clinical lab.
• Ensures accurate and timely diagnostic testing.
• Maintains CLIA and CAP compliance and documentation.
• Leads quality control and quality assurance programs.
• Supports policy development and staff education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratory
• Supervise, schedule, and evaluate laboratory staff
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all diagnostic testing
• Maintain CLIA, CAP, and regulatory compliance and documentation
• Implement and monitor quality control and quality assurance programs
• Manage lab budget, supplies, and vendor relationships
• Coordinate with providers and nursing to support patient care needs
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Develop and update laboratory policies, procedures, and workflows
• Lead process improvement and staff education initiatives
