Job summary

St. Luke’s Health – Memorial Lufkin is seeking a Lab Tech Professional to perform essential clinical laboratory procedures to detect, identify, measure, and report data for disease diagnosis and treatment.

The role involves conducting waived and moderate procedures with precision, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and quality across microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and related disciplines. A BS in science and lab experience are preferred; on-site position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Of Science in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA, and 2 years clinical lab experience in the designed lab area/speciality, upon hire.
• Preferred credentials include International Medical Laboratory Scientist, Blood Banking, Chemistry - ASCP, and various MLS/Technologist certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coaches lab personnel to train for adherence to relevant policies and ethics.
• Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over operational decisions.
• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes.
• Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables.
• Assists with selection of test methodology appropriate for the laboratory use of test results.
• Verifies test procedures and establishes the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including precision and accuracy.

Education
