Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform testing and quality control procedures across our site. You will operate instrumentation, prepare reagents, and report results following established policies.

You will communicate with nursing staff and physicians about patient results and assist on various projects as needed. Independence and reliability are required for success in this role.

Qualifications

• AS in laboratory science preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 50-week military training as Medical Lab Specialist or graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program.
• 1 to 3 years clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• ASCP or equivalent, certified, or eligible, required.
• Certification must be achieved within 12 months after hire date.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and quality control procedures across all operational departments relevant to the site and shift.
• Operate instrumentation, prepare reagents and report results according to established policies and procedures.
• Communicate with nursing/physicians regarding patient results and assist in various projects as needed.
• Must be able to work independently under supervision of Laboratory leadership.
