Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Hazleton seeks a Laboratory Technician to support diagnostic testing. You will perform high and moderate complexity testing under supervision with independent judgment, using established SOPs.

The position requires an associate degree or CLIA grandfathered MLT diploma, and you will work with modern lab instrumentation in a team-focused environment. Day shift, full-time, onsite.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or specialized diploma required per CLIA grandfathered MLT regulations.
• Less than 1 year of experience and a clinical laboratory internship.
• Demonstrated technical skills and ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific documents.
• Ability to read, understand, and speak basic English.
• Proficiency with computer systems, word processing, email and relevant software.
• Demonstrated dependability and flexibility to meet scheduling needs.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills and interpret technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs high/medium complexity or waived laboratory tests in the assigned department.
• Operates advanced clinical laboratory instrumentation per SOPs.
• Confirms and reports results with independent judgment.
• Monitors results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Performs quality control and documents results per SOPs.
• Troubleshoots instrument or procedure issues and reports them.
• Provides orientation/training to new staff and students.
