Job summary

Healthy Community Health Center seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant to coordinate CLIA-certified lab activities. You will perform in-house tests, draw blood, and ensure timely documentation in the EHR while collaborating with clinicians and outside labs.

The role emphasizes serving vulnerable populations, maintaining quality control, and training new staff within a community-focused primary care setting.

Qualifications

• At least two years relevant experience, or the equivalent, particularly in serving vulnerable populations.
• Phlebotomy license preferred.
• Current CPR (BLS) certificate is required.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, prepare, and document results of specimens sent to outside laboratories.
• Perform in-house Point of Care lab tests and record results in EHR and with providers.
• Function as clinic phlebotomist, drawing blood by venipuncture for testing and procedures.
• Identify abnormal/critical results and communicate findings to providers and nursing staff.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and process supply orders as needed.
• Assist with training new clinical personnel on lab operations and testing.
• Perform QC for Point of Care testing per manufacturer instructions.
• Track ordered labs and maintain daily accession logs.
