Job summary

Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a Lab Assistant to assist technical staff with specimen collection, receipt and processing, and to prepare samples for testing in a Mesa, AZ setting. The role may involve waived and limited moderate complexity testing under supervision, with emphasis on accuracy and adherence to policy.

The position supports department operations, including inventory control and cost-reduction efforts, and may involve phlebotomy and staff training as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; must be 18+ if performing phlebotomy.
• Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations.
• DHS Fingerprinting Certification or ability to obtain.
• Valid state driver’s license and eligibility for company auto insurance.
• Career ladder progression to levels II–IV requires completion of ladder requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with specimen collection, receipt, processing and referral lab processing.
• Perform waived and moderate complexity testing under direct supervision.
• Maintain QC and troubleshoot basic computer issues in the lab.
• Assist with inventory management and departmental cost-control initiatives.
• Provide phlebotomy and training support as required.
