Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our team. This role focuses on preparing samples for analytical testing and ensuring proper distribution of specimens within the laboratory.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and may have military laboratory training or related experience. Opportunities for growth and development are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Military Laboratory Training: Phase I (Air Force or Basic-Army) may be accepted in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently prepares samples for analytical testing and/or distribution of specimens to the proper analytical area.
• Accurately registers, receives, processes, and stores biological specimens, such as blood, body fluids and tissue, and accessions them into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
