Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center seeks a Laboratory Assistant for a full-time day shift (4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) to support the laboratory operations. You will receive samples in LIS, process materials in Central Processing, and prepare them for testing either in-house or at reference laboratories.

The role includes clerical duties, training new staff and phlebotomy students, and serving as a backup to phlebotomists.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of phlebotomy or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples in LIS, process in Central Processing, and prepare for testing.
• Perform clerical duties, train new employees, and teach phlebotomy students.
• Backup to phlebotomists, may perform blood collection in high-paced areas.
• Ensure patient identification, specimen integrity, and proper labeling while interacting politely with customers.
