Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, Tennessee seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support phlebotomy, specimen processing, and reporting in our hospital laboratory. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration with clinical teams.

You will collect specimens from patients of all ages, ensure specimen integrity, and manage processing and reporting while following laboratory procedures and reference-lab interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; one year of experience preferred.
• Ability to collect samples from patients of all ages.
• Basic computer skills and communication ability.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process patient specimens with phlebotomy skills.
• Process and distribute patient reports; ensure specimen integrity per lab procedures.
• Send specimens to reference labs and follow up on overdue test results.
• Mails/faxes copies of reports to physicians as necessary and answers specimen requirements questions.
