Job summary

Overlake Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to perform venipuncture/fingerstick collection, specimen prep and related duties. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen processing, and point-of-care testing as part of the laboratory team.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 0930-1800, with opportunity for professional growth in a hospital setting and exposure to neonatal, pediatric, geriatric and adult patient populations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification/licensure as appropriate per WA DOH.
• ASCP registration is a plus for higher level roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and fingerstick specimen collection.
• Prepare and process specimens.
• Conduct Point of Care testing as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of training.

Qualifications

Clinical Lab Assistant

• License through Washington State Department of Health - Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification (PC).
• Technical training /certification in phlebotomy.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Six months hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy on neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, adult, trauma and critical patients also preferred.
• At least two (2) years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer Service experience preferred.

Clinical Lab Assistant II

• American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) registration a plus
• License through Washington State Department of Health - Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification (PC) required.
• Technical training /certification in phlebotomy.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Two years hospital experience required.
• Experience with phlebotomy on neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, adult, trauma and critical patients required.
• Customer Service experience preferred.
