Job summary

West Cancer Center in Germantown, TN, is seeking a Lab Assistant to support lab operations and patient care. You will prepare stains, solutions, culture media, and perform waived and moderately complex tests in CLIA-compliant setting.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a clinical environment with patient contact, and teamwork with physicians and staff. High school diploma required; phlebotomy program or 1 year lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with basic laboratory skills.
• One year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy program may be accepted in lieu of direct experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, and process laboratory specimens.
• Prepare stains, solutions, and culture media for use in testing.
• Perform waived and moderately complex laboratory tests in accordance with CLIA standards.
• Conduct venipuncture as requested by physicians.
• Maintain accurate specimen records and documentation.
• Monitor and maintain laboratory supply inventory.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Model professionalism and adhere to safety, confidentiality, and infection control practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, staff, and patients to support seamless laboratory workflows.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lab Director.
