Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest laboratory, offering extensive benefits and a pathway for growth. The Clinical Lab Assistant role in Woodward/Specimen Management supports multiple modalities and provides the chance to learn in a busy hospital setting.

Successful candidates work independently, with supervision as needed, and may qualify for a paid apprenticeship if experience is limited. Regular attendance is essential for this hourly position.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent is required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving skills to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communications and on-call duties by location.
