Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant in San Diego, CA to join our team. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing samples for testing, data entry, equipment checks, and maintaining a safe, organized lab environment.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday 5:00am–1:30pm, with potential overtime. Minimum qualification is a High School Diploma or GED. Benefits are provided for employees working 20+ hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Preferred: Labcorp experience.
• Preferred: healthcare industry experience (3+ months).
• Preferred: lab/clinical laboratory experience (3+ months).

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Perform minor instrumentation maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies and maintain clean work area.
• Complete logs and administrative duties.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for safety and quality.
