Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking an Analytical Specialist with Point of Care Testing at Duke Raleigh Hospital to support high‑quality diagnostic services.

You will administer and coordinate technical activities within the Clinical Laboratories, develop QC programs, and train staff to ensure accurate and timely test results across segments including blood bank, chemistry, and hematology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Three to five years of laboratory experience in specified areas (e.g., Serology, Special Hematology, Anaerobic Bacteriology).
• Certification in Medical Technology and/or in the specialized field of the assigned Lab; SBB for Transfusion Service may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and coordinate technical activities in a specific segment of the Clinical Laboratories to ensure effective operation of the unit.
• Develop and implement quality control programs; prepare and maintain related records.
• Conduct proficiency evaluations of laboratory operations and evaluate results.
• Assist in developing and implementing testing methods, standardize laboratory solutions, and evaluate new equipment.
• Provide training and instruction to personnel in routine and advanced laboratory techniques.
