The CT State Community College is developing a pool of applicants for potential part-time Clinical Instructor-Nursing positions (Up to 17 hours per week).
These positions are on continuous recruitment and are filled on an as-needed basis, depending on specific department needs. The Community College system offers two-year liberal arts degree programs and a broad range of career, occupational, and technical certificate and non-credit programs in order to meet the varied learning needs of the populations served. Among those programs are courses in subject areas which prepare students for occupations and careers in fields which support and are adjunct to health care.
Under the direction of the Program Director, the clinical educational assistant is responsible for the supervision, instruction, and evaluation of nursing students in the clinical agency and clinical laboratory setting by effective performance in these essential duties:
The physical demands of this position are consistent with the demands of someone working as a nurse in the field. These include, but are not limited to, standing for extended periods of time, lifting, moving, and manipulating patients and equipment, and quickly responding to emergency situations. Incumbents travel to multiple clinical instruction sites and need to be able to drive a private passenger automobile or arrange for alternative transportation.
Master’s degree in Nursing with two (2) or more years of clinical experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience that is equivalent and in compliance with the State Board of Nursing regulations and program accreditation standards. Unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Connecticut is required.
Successful Candidate must have or possess:
Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Experience with reflective, interactive, culturally responsive pedagogical teaching techniques. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
$105.86 hourly.
