Job summary

The pharmacy resident will provide evidence-based, collaborative, patient-centered care under the supervision of a preceptor. The resident will be a self-directed, motivated learner as guided by the Residency Program Director and preceptors, and will conduct projects to improve patient care and evaluate the sustainability of pharmacy services.

This position is at SouthWire in Carrollton, Georgia. One Pharmacy resident position is available for one year beginning July 1, 2024, through June 30,

Qualifications

PharmD degree from ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy.
Eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia.
Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

Promote, manage, schedule, and conduct clinical services in the pharmacy and/or site clinic.
Develop a research initiative at the community pharmacy practice site.
Dispense prescriptions and counsel patients on medications.
Assist with teaching opportunities at the College of Pharmacy.

The pharmacy resident will conduct several projects to improve the quality of patient care, advance the profession of pharmacy, and evaluate the sustainability of pharmacy services. The pharmacy resident will also provide medication-related education and training to healthcare professionals.

One Pharmacy resident position is available for one year beginning from July 1st, 2024 – June 30th, 2025

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

PharmD degree from ACPE -accredited college or school of pharmacy; eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia; current CPR certification is required; must meet the qualifications to administer vaccinations according to the Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
