Job summary

Phoenix Specialty Hospital is seeking a House Supervisor to lead nursing care on the assigned shift and coordinate the provision of nursing services in compliance with state and federal regulations. You will act as the clinical and administrative resource, guiding staff, physicians, and leadership on procedures and hospital policy to ensure patient needs are met.

Responsibilities include staffing decisions, emergency response, quality reporting, and HR support for nursing personnel.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed in Arizona.
• Minimum two years of supervisory nursing experience; ICU/critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees patient care on the designated shift and ensures staff competency.
• Serves as clinical/administrative resource; consults on procedures and policy.
• Coordinates staffing based on census and acuity; stays within budget; delegates.
• Supports CQI, reviews admissions, audits documentation, submits data monthly.
• Reports accidents/incidents; submits daily incident reports to management.
• Monitors wound care, vitals; supports restraint reduction and care plan reviews.
• Handles physician concerns and patient/family complaints; promotes teamwork.
• Supports HR functions: recruitment, turnover, overtime, payroll approvals.
• Ensures treatments/tests are ordered and executed; maintains equipment.
• Plans orientation of new nurses; maintains infection prevention practices.
• Completes mandatory training and licensure; pursues continuing education.
• Participates in CQI, infection prevention, and patient safety activities.
• Provides leadership and upholds professional standards and policies.
• Adheres to HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, and regulatory rules.
• Collaborates across departments; adapts to census changes; delivers service excellence.
