Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Fort Walton, Florida, seeks a Clinical Fellow School Supervisor Speech-Language Pathologist to supervise CFYs in a public school setting. The role requires hands-on guidance, real-time observations, and structured feedback to support CFY progress.

This supervisory position includes monthly indirect supervision, observation hours, and clear documentation, with a focus on evidence-based practice and collaboration with school staff to ensure quality

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete min 6 hours direct observation and 6 hours indirect mentorship per CF segment.
• Conduct real-time observations of CF during evaluations, treatment sessions, and counseling.
• Provide indirect mentorship, including reviewing evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes.
• Discuss clinical cases and deliver constructive performance feedback.
• Coordinate scheduling to ensure clinical competencies are observed and assessed.
• Distribute supervision activities across segments (no more than 6 observation hours in a day).
• Provide ongoing guidance tailored to CF performance and state/district requirements.
• Conduct at least one formal performance feedback session per segment with documented progress.

Additional Details

This is a supervisory role that requires supervision of a CFY SLP in a school setting. This role requires 2 hours of direct in-person supervision and 2 hours a month of indirect supervision (reviewing notes and documentation, collaborating with CFY) within the Okaloosa school system.

Qualifications

• Hold a current CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
• Hold a current Florida SLP license
• Have at least 9 months of post-certification experience
• Complete at least 2 hours of professional development in clinical instruction/supervision
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Responsibilities (CF Supervisor / Mentor)

• Complete a minimum of 6 hours of direct observation and 6 hours of indirect mentorship per CF segment (approximately 12 weeks), totaling 18 hours of each across the full CF experience.
• Conduct real-time observations of the Clinical Fellow during evaluations, treatment sessions, and counseling activities.
• Provide Indirect Mentorship, including reviewing documentation (evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes)
• Provide Indirect Mentorship, including discussing clinical cases
• Provide Indirect Mentorship, including delivering constructive performance feedback
• Coordinate scheduling with the Clinical Fellow to ensure all required clinical competencies are observed and assessed within each segment.
• Ensure supervision activities are appropriately distributed across the segment (no more than 6 observation hours in a single day).
• Provide ongoing guidance and support tailored to the Clinical Fellow's performance and any applicable state or district requirements.
• Conduct at least one formal performance feedback session per segment, documenting progress and areas for growth.
