Job summary

East Carolina University seeks BSOM Clinical Faculty Advisor to support medical students with mentoring, career guidance, and professional development. The role is a part-time reassignment (.10 FTE) for Brody School of Medicine faculty or ECU Health physicians involved in teaching.

Responsibilities include advising an assigned cohort, supporting Learning Community activities, and coordinating with House Deans to foster a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or MBBS from an appropriately accredited institution or foreign education recognized for ECFMG.
• Current Brody School of Medicine faculty member at Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor or higher or ECU Health physician.
• Minimum of 1 year post-residency/fellowship in a medical education setting.
• Demonstrated commitment to student mentorship and development.

Responsibilities

• Mentor students in professional identity formation and career exploration.
• Support Learning Community student leaders and community-building efforts.
• Promote wellbeing and professionalism within the cohort.
• Provide feedback during clinical simulation and skills sessions.
• Advise on residency applications in collaboration with House Deans.
